Abstract

The growing instability of world affairs induces states to be looking for more proper governance, in view of widening ignoration of the UN Security Council. In the beginning of the 21st century new institutions come ahead ready to act as it is inherent to the UN. The G-8 stays among them in the front line. The increasing popularity of the G-8 in the circles of researchers pushes the author of the article, in his attempts to explain the development of the G-8 as a promising model of global governance, to pay special attention to the necessity of using more profound theoretical knowledge while treating the phenomenon of the G-8, as well as, though, the problem of the governance of world affairs as a whole.
