В тетралогии “Империя” Майкл Хардт и Антонио Негри внедрили в традиционную марксистскую парадигму ряд концептов теории постструктурализма. Будучи приверженцами автономного постмарксизма, авторы заменили классические марксистские концепты империализма и пролетариата такими концептами, как Империя и Множество. Настоящая статья предлагает преодолеть антагонизм Империи и Множества посредством их замены на концепты Империализм и Народ. Обращаясь к дебатам об империи и империализме, автор поднимает вопрос обоснованности концепции империализма. По мнению автора, суверенитет национальных государств продолжает реализовываться через неравномерную и смешанную форму неолиберального капитализма. Кроме того, статья посвящена проблеме революционного субъекта в контексте постструктурализма. Анализируя фундаментальную дилемму имманентности и трансцендентности социальной борьбы, автор обосновывает тезис о том, что альтернативы новым империалистическим отношениям должны артикулировать множественность антагонизмов, присущую гегемонистской политике, которая трансцендентно формирует автономную и репрезентативную фазы политики. Данная артикуляция антагонизмов требует ограждения популизма от уничижительных оценок и отношения к нему как к органической части политики.
