Abstract
The author asserts that the presidential elections-2000 brought about the «Kuban sensation» effect. Thus far, Krasnodar Territory Governor N.Kondratenko had invariably supported the Communist candidate and the electors in the Territory used to ever take heed of his say. Yet, this time the vote was for V.Putin. The author singles out the key factors of the process in which the subsequently elected president’s positive image was being formed in the region.
