Abstract

The centennial jubilee of the first Russian constitution and the centenary since the first Russian parliament started its activity constitute the background against which the author is considering certain fundamental questions related to the formation of our country's polity. Cardinal differences are being revealed between political traditions of the West and of Russia. At that, the constitutional-parliamentary dimension of the Russian polity is qualified in the article as significant and to a certain extent decisive for the modern stage of the country's development.
