Abstract

The global information space which is in process of formation has turned mass media into influential participants of international relations. Simultaneously significance of public opinion as factor of world politics has increased. Management of information streams has turned a key component of struggle for power, when the course of world politics depends on interpretation of events. The author of the article points to a symbiosis of market and non-market modes of mass-media influencing society in the course of international conflicts, to technologies and methods that may be mutually complementary, to the laws of election campaigns being projected to information campaigns on foreign policy issues.
