Abstract
Cause for these reflections of the author was given by the recently issued collective monograph entitled “Global Community: New Coordinates (Approaches to the Problem)” and, in particular, by the concept put forward by the editor-in chief of the said publication, A.I.Neklessa, concerning the character of the present global civilizational situation, as well as by his hexagonal model of the the geoeconomic universe. Reviewing the discussion between leading Russian social scientists as it unfolds in the book, and elucidating primarily those aspects of it that have a bearing on socio-cultural matters, on political science and economics, the author concludes that this collective monograph contributes a lot to the development of Russian global studies.
