Abstract

Proceeding from their own analysis of materials published by “reputable” newspapers of five different countries (the Washington Post — USA, Le Monde — France, Berliner Zeitung — Germany, Hindustan Times — India, Nezavisimaya gazeta — Russia), the authors of this study attempt to reveal the common features and the specific characteristics of the geopolitical pictures that the mass media, respectively, call forth in mass consciousness. Data closely studied, processed and organized in the form of tables, show that each of the above newspapers, reproducing respective national vision of the world, in its own manner divides it into macroregions, in its own way draws the “axes of good and of evil”.
