Abstract

Proceeding from the notion of double bind, widely known in psychology and in communicative science, the author analyzes the appliance of this concept in political science discourse and, besides, describes some cases of double bind in real politics. The article presents typology of political double binds, as well as reactions to them on the part of their victims – political actors. The author sees the general theoretical meaning of the analysis undertaken, in the significant methodological role of the theory of communicative double bind in the aspect of its contradictory, absurd, and paradoxical character. The practical aspect of the problem is linked with the significance of double bind in modern management strategies.
