Abstract

The author investigates the phenomenon of ochlocracy, scarcely explored in contemporary academic literature. Anyway, its instances have not infrequently been observable in epochs of cardinal socio-economic and socio-political changes. Ochlocratical models and practices, in the author’s opinion, are characteristic also of contemporary political processes, especially of “post-Communist” states.
