Abstract

The article substantiates the position according to which modern post-industrial society is confronted by the new social question revealing erosion of basic constitutional principles of developed countries. Solution of the said question on the basis of a new understanding of constitutionalism, proposed in the article, would help maintain, the author supposes, the ethical and legal grounds of political discourse, that are necessary for the implementation of basic values of Western civilization – liberty and justice.
