Abstract

The quest of the article is to be found in the author’s analysis of metaphysical dimensions of the Russian political elites’ transformations in the post-Soviet period. The article deals – in terms of metaphysics – with the essential alteration of the orientations (on the level of purport of life) proper to the Russian elites (with the changing mechanisms of their legitimation) – elites that have been taking shape throughout the latest five centuries as geocracy (stratum with a historical vocation to gather lands together, to govern them and to defend them), but in the long run have turned into nomadic undertakers oriented on maximization of profits.

Keywords
Russia; elites; power; metaphysics; geocracy; marketization; transformation.
