Abstract

The article presents an approach to the analysis of discursive images of states. The approach is based on the theoretical framework of narrative semiotics and on elements of critical discourse analysis. The analytical scheme proposed includes three aspects of analysis (semantic, syntactic and pragmatic) and is exemplified with an analysis of the image of Kosovo in official Russian political discourse.

Keywords
discourse; discourse analysis; image; image of state; non-recognized states; political discourse; political semiotics.
