Abstract

The growing influence of the “BRICS-Plus” countries explains the relevance of this topic, particularly amid geopolitical transformations driven by the gradual shift of the global economic centre towards Asia, the diversification of markets and investments, and the strengthening of the role of the Global South. China’s initiative to establish a Community of Common Destiny for Mankind (CCDM) seeks to promote sustainable development and strengthen trust between states, including within the framework of “BRICS-Plus”. The introduction synthesises the key concepts developed by Chinese scholars on the strategic communication of the People’s Republic of China and the Community of Common Destiny for Mankind. An analysis of these definitions shows that they are oriented toward challenging the hegemony of Western discourse and advancing a “Chinese solution” to global governance. The article also examines the distinctive features of the Chinese approach to global governance through the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, which China has integrated into the concept of the CCDM and positioned as one of its principal drivers. The second part of the study presents a content analysis of the PRC’s international declarations, official documents, and statements concerning the “community of common destiny” in relation to the “BRICS-Plus” countries. This analysis identifies those states that demonstrate a willingness to apply Chinese ideas in practice. The extraction of the key elements of the CCDM reveals the predominance of human-centered values that resonate with a significant number of countries within the grouping. In the concluding section, the author outlines the approaches adopted by the “BRICS-Plus” countries towards global governance. The article argues that the synergy between “BRICSPlus” and the CCDM reflects a convergence of objectives, as both concepts prioritise sustainable development and the strengthening of interstate trust. In this context, “BRICS-Plus” provides a framework for understanding the emerging global economic, political, and innovation architecture, while the Community of Common Destiny for Mankind promotes solidarity and mutually beneficial forms of collective development.
