The editorial team warmly congratulates the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences – both as a reliable, time-tested founding partner of “Polis. Political Studies” journal, and as a key institutional foundation of fundamental sociological science in Russia – on its glorious 55th anniversary! One cannot imagine the formation and development of modern sociology, and political sociology in particular, without the crucial contribution made in this field by the Institute's staff and its leadership over the past decades.

We express our deepest gratitude to our colleagues from the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, who have repeatedly supported “Polis” in times of need, showing an example of true intellectual and organizational unselfishness. At the age of 94 on June 2, 2023, Yuri Andreevich Krasin passed away – a former long-term member of “Polis. Political Studies” Editorial Board, our dear friend.
