In the article, the authors retrace the economic reforms that Russia’s government was carrying out after the disintegration of the USSR. They present examples from different periods of the Russian history (from the 17th up to the 20th century) to demonstrate the necessity of taking account of the historical and cultural experience of a given concrete country while determining its economic course.
