Abstract

The article discusses methodological problems in conceptualizing the role of the individual in contemporary political and institutional transformations. The individual as a political actor and the personal (individual) dimension of politics are analyzed, and cultural studies approaches are evaluated. The emergence of alternative models of political development is associated with solidaristic social practices, with the ability to conceive development beyond the framework of Modernity.
