On the night of June 23/24, 2015, passed away Eduard Salmanovich KULPIN-GUBAIDULIN, a long-time friend of our journal, our author, Russian philosopher, historian, Orientalist, Dr. Sci. (Philos.), Ph.D. (Econ.), founder of the school of socio-natural history, chief editor of the “History and Modernity,” the organizer of the annual (since 1992) International Conference “Human Being and Nature. Problems of Socio-natural History,” expert on socio-demographic macro-cycles, chief researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies, Professor of History, Head of the Department of History  at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. We express our condolences to his family and colleagues. This is truly an irreplaceable loss for all of us, for modern Russian social sciences, the tragic interruption of outstanding creative endeavors. We will remember our friend, a noble and zealous researcher, an enthusiast of Russian science.
